Hidden Hearing is a high-street hearing specialist with a national network of 345 test centres across the UK. They help 265,000 people every year, providing free hearing tests, advice and information.

Part of the Demant Group, a world-leading hearing healthcare and technology group, with more than 100 years of experience in audiology, psychoacoustic research and hearing healthcare innovation, Hidden Hearing initially came to us for PR support ahead of their launch of the UK high street’s first hearing aid jewellery range.

Since the launch, we’ve been retained by Hidden Hearing to develop and support the brand’s Love Your Ears hearing loss awareness and anti-stigma campaign.

Hearing loss affects 1 in 5 people in the UK. Left untreated, hearing loss has been linked to an associated risk of developing other health conditions, such as dementia and Alzheimer’s, and to an increased risk of depression, anxiety and social isolation. Yet people take 10 years on average to act on the signs of hearing loss.

What we delivered

  • Secured features for the campaign in national newspapers and magazines, including The Mirror on Sunday, The Express and Good Housekeeping Magazine.
  • Worked with campaign supporters to secure TV and radio coverage, including interviews on Channel 4’s Steph’s Packed Lunch, ITV news and BBC2’s Jeremy Vine programme.
  • Created a Love Your Ears @ Work initiative to encourage conversations about hearing in the workplace and help employers to support people with hearing loss at work.
  • Devised and wrote copy for a Better Hearing at Work Guide for employers, including insights from people with hearing loss compiled via focus group interviews and a national survey we co-ordinated on behalf of Hidden Hearing.
  • Worked with GP and broadcaster Dr Hilary Jones and other campaign ambassadors to generate press coverage. Listen to Dr Hilary interviewed on the BBC here and BBC Radio 4’s Today Programme Love Your Ears coverage here.
"You've done such an amazing job on our campaign, it's so appreciated."
